Dire... really Dire...

How does one convert an animal into a dire animal? For example, how does one convert a Rat into a Dire Rat?

just add the Dire animal template. the critter gets bigger, gains HD does a bit mor damage due to stat increase and has slightly better saves

I dont remember a template, I just remember a list of Dire Animals in the MM.

There is no template. Every Dire animal has different stuff added to them, so a template is impossible, really.


Which is a good thing, cause both T-Rex and Rocs would be eligable for it now, and that would be wrong.

I was away from home when I posted that. I was thinking of the Dire animal section of the MM.

Just use the critters there as an example of how to upscale an existing animal into a dire version
