Disbelief! A crazy idea with not-so-crazy consequences

Existence

First Post
Hello, being a Newbie I'm not to sure if this is the right place to post my crazy idea. (I know I've been registered for a while, I just haven't been here ;))

Anyhoo, I've created this world that is sustained by the collective belief by all sentient creatures that it is real. Basically the world is there because people believe in it. The gods were created because the peoples were lacking in emotion. Anyway to get to the chase, does anyone feel that it is feasible to let the PCs try to make everyone stop believing in the world, thus destroying it. They would have to be at epic levels of course.

More detailes tomorrow, I'll also try to post some background material too. Sorry, I'm way too tired to keep going.

Thanks for your time

Sure it's feasible, but it would be extremely difficult.

The characters would have to convince so many people to disbelieve, and it would be (prolly, anyhow) so contrary to their own interests... Seems impossible to me.

But then, epic levels are all about doing the impossible, aren't they? :D :D

I was thinking more along the lines that they don't actually know that their actions will destroy the world.:D I know its unfair on the players, but once they've advanced to high that they will be able to do such a thing, its time to pass their characters into legend and start again...of course, that means the end of the world...curses! Foiled again! Um... actually, they would'nt even have to be unwitting pawns, they could just make one area disapear. I know its getting far fetched now, but this is the idea that all megalomaniacs aspire to! hehe...aaahhaah...Bwhahahaaahah!!!
