This probably has a target audience of, oh, 2 but if you happen to do your own homebrew world and it is a disc shaped world, you can find a utility at:
Affliction: MithlondSE: Solar Energy Calculator
that will calculate sunrise, sunset, and solar energy for any spot on the world as well as produce some graphs and charts for you. The default world has a 6000 mile diameter and 200 mile wide sun orbiting just beyond the rim of the world but you could put the sun much farther out if you like.
I did this entirely for my own curiousity but if it does happen to be of interest/use to you and you want to play with it; let me know if you want any help with using the tool.
