My question is pretty simple I guess. When you use a spell or ability to assume the form of another creature, do you incur the normal penalties on disguise checks for when you pretend to be a different race, age, size, etc, etc, etc? They make sense for mundane disguises, but how exactly do you spot the difference between two identical looking elves for instance, when one is the real thing and the other is not? I realize that someone may point out that the mannerisms between the real thing and the fake may be different, but come on, the character is question that I am asking this question for have 5 ranks in bluff and 4 in perform (acting), so he should be able to imitate those pretty easily. The official ruling is what I need though, so does anyone know it?
