Dishes at the Tavern

First Post
I am having the hardest time finding a resource that lists a bunch of medieval dishes. All I'm looking for is some variety for when the player's sit down to eat a meal at a tavern. I found the Kaiser's Bazaar series which has every last thing I'd need in a town - other than dishes! or an example menu, etc.

Anyone know if such a thing exists?

How about this:

Logrom, thanks for the link. If nothing else turns up I'll go with that. I'll still keep looking though because some of the menus it gives..triceratops steak?? really? griffin-milk? Plus even when set to noble the dishes are pretty simple fare. I was looking more for roast pork glazed in honey butter and spiced with cloves..etc.

D'karr, that's more along the lines I was thinking...if only they listed about fifty more examples of dishes like those =S

Expeditious Retreat also has a great PDF of fantasy racial foods, but for some reason, I can't find it in their Web store and they're no longer associated with RPGNow, which is too bad, since it's the best in breed for fantasy food choices, IMO.

The restaurant is a fairly recent invention. In general, in a medieval setting, you could look forward to bread, stew, maybe some cheese, and game if you're lucky (and well to do).

Exactly. Even an inn would be rare outside of certain well-traveled areas, and it would serve a meal to everyone who showed up and paid. There would be no menu of choices.
