Getting back on quasi-topic, a Kim Possible d20 Modern minigame would be pretty cool. Not as cool as a Nightmare Before Christmas minigame, but still...

You could do all sorts of Disney mini-games.

Kim Possible for d20 modern, with Buffyesque humor and teen spy plots. Gargoyles, again for d20 Modern, maybe even attached to Shadow Chasers. Aladdin would be a fun little Al-Qadim ripoff. I know its really a fun little Alibaba and the Forty Thieves ripoff, but still. Hercules is great. I'm always surprised at some of teh humor, which often requires some more detailed knowledge of Greek myths. You could do fun stuff there for stadard d20.

I mean, what girl would not want to take the Princess Advanced Class?

On the anime d20 note. I've always thought the major players in the anime world should start making game material. Pioneer, ADV, Funimation, etc could each make a small mint on their franchises.

I think it could help bring new players into the market. Open up the game to more people.

I take it you don't consider the idea viable? I'd like to know why you think so. I don't pose this question from any particular desire to personally see these products. I do wonder if kids in the 8-12 year range would though.

Agreed. I've used several plots from this show in my D&D games. Great stuff, really. I try and watch it whenever I get the chance.

Disney is responsible for a lot of fantasy stuff, and I think it is where most kids get their early exposure to the genre. I know one of my earliest movie memories is Sword in the Stone.

One word: Mulan.

Lots of nice fantasy material in there. Not to mention, the "Dragon, not lizard. I don't do that tongue thing" has become a game quotable in our group.

I jumped into this thread thinking "No! NO! A THOUSAND times NO!!!". Disney would never let it happen. They're obscenely overprotective of their IP. Second, D&D still hasn't completely shaken its' bad rap and D20 is still too closely linked to D&D for them to go for it, I thought.

But, having read through some of the responses, it might just happen. There IS that Kingdom Hearts game, and if any hobby rivals D&D for its' "debasing-the-minds-of-our-nation's-youth" reputation, it's video games.

Also, a lot of the properties mentioned would make really good settings. Disney's Gargoyles cartoon could make for a really kick-ass d20 Modern setting, I think. And how about a d20 Gummi Bears? I even wrote up a 2e PC race for Disney's Gummi Bears, as a joke.

I don't think it's likely to happen, but I think it would definitely be viable, especially for the younger crowd.

Nope- my story time involved....racey stuff that my father would tell me in story form. It's amazing what a plastic surgeon could do with animal parts....

for what's it worth, I tell my 4 yr old D&D stories.
