Dispelling a golem?

Can't Dispel SU abilities anymore.

Actually, that's not necessarily true.

Page 289 of the DMG states, under Supernatural Abilities: "A supernatural ability's effect cannot be dispelled and is not subject to counterspells."

However, Table 8-1 on page 290 has, under the Supernatural column, a "Yes" where the Dispel line is.

So, is the description right, or the table? (The SRD says the same thing.)

Golems are magically created automatons of great power. Constructing one involves the employment of mighty magic and elemental forces.
The animating force for a golem is a spirit from the Elemental Plane of Earth. The process of creating the golem binds the unwilling spirit to the artificial body and subjects it to the will of the golem’s creator.

Thats what the 3.5 SRD says

ergo Golems are constructs animated by an elemental spiritl

The Magic is used to bind the Spirit, NOT to keep the thing '(un)alive'

However you might argue a case for using dispell to Unbind the elemental (and go from having a golem to fight to haing an angry elemental to fight instead...
