DMG II price

I was just browzing through the online Paizo store. The DMG II preorder is listed at $135, slashed from its cover price of $150. Is that for real? I was thinking about ordering it but there's no way at that price. Is there any book out there anyone would pay $135 for?

Paizo must really be hurting for money... :p

edited part: Dumb post - Ignore

So the DMG II is not really considered part of the Core rules then?

I mean a $40.00 list price (okay - $39.95) for rules seems pretty steep to me considering we've had:

DMG 3.0 $19.95 list - then $29.95 I beleive (for second printing?)
DMG 3.5 $29.95 list

I would say Paizo ain't the only one hurting for money!

I wonder if in the next few years, the core books will creep up to $34.95 or $39.99.

Bad day for gamers when that happens. I mean, after they stop flinging feces at one another in blind protest.

Well I heard from my wife's aunt's second cousin thrice removed uncle's neighbor's daughter, who heard it from her sister's cousin's boyfriend's grandfather's great-grandnephew, that it was going to suck. ;)

I don't know much about flinging feces.

But I do know that I stopped flinging money to RPG companies after DnD3.5 came out!

P.S. No money flung into the 3.5 bucket either.

Also, to answer a question from the original post. No. There is no RPG book that I would pay $135.00 for.

No, my limit is $100 (well, $61 after discounts actually) for the World's Largest Dungeon, which was very much worth it to me.

Now, if something like it that's 800 full-color pages comes out, I may change my mind... :)

Possibly, but I doubt it. (Well, they will *eventually* but probably not for 5+ years or so.)

Since they sell many, many more of the core books, they can probably keep 'em at $30 for the forseeable future. Of course, I'm talking about D&D only. Other games' core rule books are already $35 or more.
