D&D (2024) DMG Lore Glossary Preview

They discuss a few of the entries in the lore glossary.
-Apparently we've been pronouncing Alustriel wrong all the time
-Baba Yaga is not John Wick
-There's a lot of kids out there who have been taken from Earth wandering around different worlds
-Things about the First World as introduced in Fizban's
-Elder Evils are a broad categorization
-The Raven Queen and Prince of Frost are some 4e elements in the glossary
-The Great Modron March happens every 17*17=289 years

That last one isn't real news for those who had figured out 289 was just 17 squared and that there are 17 Outer Planes. It's been that number since 2e.
In theory, none of it should be “real news” to folks who are well-informed on the lore of D&D. The point of this lore glossary is to assemble the extensive backlog of D&D lore and make it more easily accessible to folks who are not so well-informed on the subject.

Not to mention being a more ...reliable and curated source than the fan wikis. Which often mix multiple edition versions and fannon together wantonly.

-There's a lot of kids out there who have been taken from Earth wandering around different worlds
Maybe toss a single background in to support that, then? Even if a modern Earthling is a farmer on Earth, they're going to be quite different from one who grew up in a fantasy world.
-Things about the First World as introduced in Fizban's
I knew it wasn't dropped!
-Elder Evils are a broad categorization
"Big Bad Evil Guy" was already taken.

-Baba Yaga is not John Wick
