D&D 5E DMs: Any experience with merging Lost Mines with Icespire Peak?

I'm sad that we won't get to finish Lost Mine. The group is broken up now. They were a couple rooms away from having to fight the Black Spider, who was a phase drider mage in my campaign, much, much tougher.

I ran LMoP for my group, and then a newbie GM (his first time) decided to step in and run. He chose IceSpire peak, although I tried to hint that Yawning Portal or Saltmarsh might be better from a CR standpoint. So far it's going well though. I think he may have pumped up some of the encounters.

LMoP is such a darn good, good adventure. It really is. For newbies or old hats, it's just solid.

Ah, I have never actually cracked the starter set books besides Phandalin... That explains it.
