I'm interested in 4E, but I've got enough 3.5 stuff to never have to switch.

I'm running The Shackled City, now, with many homebrewed side quests. After that wraps up, I'm planning to run a campaign (or several in and around Monte Cook's Ptolus). I've also got Red Hand of Doom and Sons of Gruumsh to run in 3.5. Not to mention that I want to run Castle Greyhawk, Castle Ravenloft, the Demonweb Pits, Undermountain, etc... And, even with all that, I'm strongly considering running 3.5 Gestalt version of RyCanada's E6.

So, while I'm interested in 4E, I can't quite justify converting. 4E is looking like 2E, for me. I got a stack of the books for 2E, but never really played 2E. I played AD&D with some stuff that I imported from 2E.

I really hope that 4E is the best DnD game to date, though.

Yes and no.

I'll continue running whatever campaign I am running at the time, under 3.5e rules, until it comes to a natural close.

The next campaign I start after that point will be under 4e rules, unless we decide not to switch.

I won't be converting the campaign in mid-stride, and I won't 'artificially' end the campaign in order to move over.
Ditto. These are the plans for the AoW campaign I am DMing right now.

I think that Pathfinder's third run was supposed to be 4th ed.

Do you have any solid confirmation of this? Last I heard, Paizo were in a "wait and see" mode. I'm very interested in which way they jump, since I consider them one of the most significant third party suppliers.

You are right about this. E.M. has stated in numerous threads that they are in wait and see mode, and after looking at the SRD, and getting some feedback from customers, they will decide. My guess? They will capitalize on the 4e wave early and make many different adventures, supplements, setting stuff.

As of now we are not going to switch. Maybe if and when the current games ends we might look at 4E but so far a lot of what we have heard has say it does not sound like our cup of tea.

Coincidentally, both of the campaign's I'm running are nearing their end. I'm not planning on ending them because of 4e but the plates will be clear. Besides, we rotate DMs and I'd like to get on the easy side of the screen for a while.

I will be ready to do so if the players are willing. If the players want to be Luddites I can handle that too. Myself I'm sure I'll PREFER to upgrade but I don't know about the players, and as we get closer to the time of the new release we'll see what state the campaign is in and factor that into deciding whether to convert everything and try to continue as if nothing changed, convert and reboot in the existing campaign setting, or just start over entirely.

While I don't have a link, I saw something to the effect of "we'll be doing the first two Pathfinder adventure paths for 3.5". This suggests that if they're switching, it'll probably be around GenCon. However, no, there's no public decision made by Paizo. I could see them providing support for one game in Pathfinder, but still supporting the other in the assorted Gamesmastery modules.

I'm not converting my current campaign, but there's a good chance that we'll be wrapping up the (16 year old!) campaign about the same time that 4e comes out. As a result, my next campaign will be in 4e... but I'm not ending this one early just to try the new rules.

Our group figures we have enough 3.5 stuff planned to take us well past the opening of 4e. We plan to finish those campaigns before coverting, then starting a new campaign under 4e.

Currently going:

Expedition to the Demonweb Pits (Playing, currently 9th level)
Age of Worms (on hiatus at about 9th level)(DMing)

Planned:
Return to the Tomb of Horrors (converted from 2e)(Using characters who completed Expedition to Castle Ravenloft, who I think are 10th level.)

Additionally, we've proposed a stealth themed party, but no one's volunteered to DM for it yet, nor has the adventure been chosen. Most of us have characters ready, though.

Between all of that, 4e may be out for a good 6 months before we change over.
