Thinking about starting a game as DM? Consider Living EN World. There are currently about a dozen adventurers ready to begin, levels 1 to 5. As a persistant world, LEW has many DMs running different games. It is a great place to set a short, one-shot adventure, or develop a section of the world yourself to run a series of adventures.

To DM, read the Guide to Living EN World, and submit your adventure proposal to the judges listed. No proposal has ever been rejected, rather we ask you to submit a brief description of your adventure for several reasons. The judges can offer suggestions to fit your adventure into established history, geography and NPCs. Also, if the DM is to dissapear, for whatever reason, a judge can use the proposal to finish the adventure. Adventures are always completed in LEW, in some form. Of course the judges must also ensure that adventures do not unbalance (or destroy) the world.

I'll second LEW as a great place to play and run games. There have been some "Campaign" adventures in LEW that have involved a continuing story line, and retained many of the same adventurers, and there are one shot games as well that have been run to fufillment.

With many players dedicated LEW players, higher level characters are more likely to remain in an adventure and have been played and followed for perhaps years already. New players gain incentives to stay in a game to advance in the world, and players and GMs alike have an opertunity to help mold the world from what was an SRD only world that simply started with a Tavern, to a world with it's own history, and locations, as well as it's own unique feats, skills and prestiege classes. And things are always being added.

LEW is a fun world that gives you as a player and a GM as much as you put into it, and then some. Come join us.
