DnD Compendium Update

I have just seen that the DND Compendium (D&D Insider) got a major update, including Monster Manual, Forgotten Realms and Adventurer's Vault stuff!

To put it bluntly, WotC just gave away the Swordmage class for free - at least, until they start charging for subscriptions. But right now, it's all there on the internet for anyone to download.

I really like how now it is much easier to find crunch that is in the Adventures by simply using the Compendium. Since I don't use modules, but I like having more crunch so this is very, very nice.

One thing though they should do is put Origin in for Monsters. They have Type, but Origin be nice too. So you can have easily say find all Fey-creatures.

Not quite the same... but fey is in the subscript of the monster name.

For instance the Amon Bassiri is a 'Medium fey humanoid'.

59 level 1 monsters available, and there are 12 monsters with some kind of "rage"....

Swordmage, genesi, camel....its all there. Just in time for $ubscription.

One thing though they should do is put Origin in for Monsters. They have Type, but Origin be nice too. So you can have easily say find all Fey-creatures.

Just do a search for fey, and you'll get all of them.

Weirdly, I could find like 15 types of skeletons, but not the bonecrusher skeleton from H2-H3 that I was looking for.

Oh, in case you guys are listening, and haven't already thought about it, the stats for the D&D Mini's Monsters for D&D 4e are not there. Note even the ones posted online elsewhere at the Wizards site.

Would be cool if they were.

I wanted to find the 'Centipede' 4e stats for use in a 4e 'Keep on the Borderlands'.

Plus the RPGA adventures. Lots of useful monster there.

All of the sets have their cards available for download here. Of course, having them in the compendium would be better (especially if they fix the problems with them).

They probably don't consider the 4e DDM stats to be "official" versions of the monsters.
