question 1: yep

question 2: It came in the poly-wrapped Dragon #309. I bought it at my FLGS on Thursday.

It is a CGI story of moderate quality but I've fallen in love with the character of Lidda. :)

I will certainly purchase it when it comes out. I don't know when that is yet.

The DVD says the full version was supposed to come out June 10th...I'll have to check at Hollywood Video, I suppose. I'm hoping it'll be available for rent - I'm not sure I'll want to buy a choose-your-own adventure DVD. It would depend on just how many variations the thing presents - if they make it interesting enough, sure, I'll pick it up, but I'm reserving judgment until I see the whole thing.

The demo was kind of fun, though. I was ticked off when it ran out and sent me back to the main menu, but there were some neat scenes - at one point (assuming you pick the right options) you can see Mialee cast what I'm guessing is dispel magic. The magic in general is fun to watch, actually. And Lidda's about what I expected, personality-wise (which is pretty cool); her voice doesn't seem quite...right to me and some of her dialogue is a little too modern but otherwise it's all good.

You know, speaking of Lidda's voice, I was very strongly reminded of Kitty Pryde from the new X-Men cartoon. I didn't really catch the voice credit - anyone know if the voices spring from the same source? I know Kitty has a lot more "Valley girl" in her voice but a lot of voice actors have decent ranges.

I've seen it at my local Circuit City, which had several copies, for about 20 bucks. I might buy it if I like the sample disk in the Dragon

I was a little skeptical of the sample DVD but I can honestly say I found the sample DVD to be entertaining for what it was.

Some of the geeky-delights for me:
* Looking at the spells being cast and trying to guess what each was (I saw sanctuary, what I am guessing is divine favor or some clerical buff, magic missle, charm person, coule others I am probably forgetting) ...
* Seeing the characters interact - they had discernable personalities (albeit stereotypical)
* plot (as much as I was able to see of it) was decent
*couple other things I am too tired to list

It isn't a big screen movie. It felt like a computer game but on the DVD player. (actually, yeah, the graphics felt like a computer game, dialogue felt like a quasi-movie, plot was definately a d&d game plot).

Not sure what the 'replay" value will ultimately be. But, as said, for what the sample DVD was, I found it entertaining.

:)

Edit: I should mention that I have only played the sample DVD twice now.
