D&D 3.x Do bonuses of ranged weapons and ammunition stack in 3.5?

I had heard that they no longer stack, but I wanted to make sure.

no. weapon's applies to hit, ammo's applies to damage.

Not entirely correct. In 3.5 the bonus from weapons and ammo do not stack-you use the HIGHEST bonus for both to hit and damage.

So using a +4 bow and a +2 arrow results in a +4 to hit and a +4 on damage.
