Do corners count?

I couldn't find a rule for what constitutes being adjacent.

If someone is on the corner of a square next to someone else, does that constitute being adjacent?

For example, the middle token below:

As far as i can tell, there's 2 units in your pic with 1 adjacent unit, and 1 unit with 2 adjacent units. I've always played with corners counting.

From my understanding, in your image:
Top creature has one adjacent creature
Middle creature as two adjacent creatures
Bottom creature has one adjacent creature.

Adjacent Squares: Two squares are adjacent if a side or corner of one touches a side or corner of the other. Two creatures of objects are adjacent if ... (their squares are adjacent)

(emphasis put in by me, and second sentence truncated for brevity of answer)

So in your example, they have corners touching, hence, adjacent.
