Do Factotums need UMD to use wizardly wands?

Can a 5th level Factotum (from Dungeonscape) use a wand of magic missle without making a UMD roll?

Does the Factotum have to have prepared Magic Missle for that day to use the wand of magic missle without making a UMD roll?

To my knowledge, NO - a factotum can't use a wand without UMD checks. The factotum's prepped spells I believe are Spell-like Abilities, not spells; to use spell trigger items, you have to have the spell on your class list, and a Factotum doesn't even HAVE a "class spell list."

Thanks. I should have looked at the FAQ at WoTC.

Ah well, at least they have a good number of skill points and all skills as class skills, so I can use UMD.

Heck, yeah -- in fact, given that class's nature, it would be one of the biggest skills I'd consider -- along with the disable device, open lock, and search skills.

Yeah, it is a balance between my usual urge to max out a certain group of skills and the idea of spreading around the points as much as possible to get as many skills as possible (especially with that class ability to help out a particular skill when I need it).
