Do gamers need Wizards.com boards/Sage Advice?

Despite the huge number of forum sign-ins over at the Wizards boards, I only have visited a few times, and none of my Questions, ideas, or goof off stuff ever gets decent replies. The worst messageboard I know of though is playonline.com run by Squaresoft. That forum is nothing but spam, literally... and I mean the meat product that comes in a can, over and over and over and over and over again...

While true that I also think that "giggling" is a little heavy-handed a term, I also know that the D&D community has technically been self-sufficient for years - just nowhere NEAR as big. The revitalization of D&D with d20, combined with the OGL and the open-sourcing of all the game product, has led to a gamer independence that was never there before. To my knowledge, there has NEVER been a community of gamers this big all playing one single game system.

(Note I do not mean ONLY d20, it's just that the last time that D&D had this many players was beck in the early 1980's.)

I myself post any questions, problems, solutions, etc. here on ENWorld or at the Necromancer Games boards.

I used to use frequent the WotC boards quite regularly, but I havent been there in quite a while. I find the WotC boards to be... well...

let's just say there should be a minimum age required to post on MsgBrds and leave it at that. :D

While I don't really feel the need personally to rely upon either the Sage or the online community at large for rulings, I know there are many gamers out there who have questions and benefit greatly from the answers they can find via the Sage or more often, on the Wiz-boards. The official boards and FAQs are easy to locate, a big plus for those who are needing help with the rules. So yes, some gamers do need the Wiz-boards and Sage Advice.

LOL. I remember you being quite popular over there my friend. :D

Oh I have my moments Scott! :) Not to mention I still think the mods there have something against me...maybe.

But you are right Scott, it's better here. Mortality.net isn't bad either since they gave me a Mod job there. :D
