A simple question that came up in the last session.

Most owls don't. Most bears do. Some birds do. For the purposes of this thread we will consider tomia - the tooth-like formations that birds like penguins have - to be teeth. Illustrations I have seen are inconsistent, and often aren't detailed enough to be sure. But the drawing it the module I'm running makes it look like they do.

So, do owlbears have teeth?

My owlbears regurgitate pellets. This implies they eat rabbits and small preys whole. In turn, this implies they have no need for cutting and chewing (or that the swallow whole because they can’t cut and chew).

So no, owlbears have no teeth

The Surprise Round:

The Owlbear regurgitates a pellet and spits it at you…

…and it hits…

Time for a Fort. save! (vs. Nausea)

Wait a minute....have you ever seen a toothsome owl or a toothless bear?
I have seen a Toothless dragon.

I don’t think they do in their modern incarnation but I seem to remember some really old art where they were drawn with toothy beaks, and more resembled the kappa (?) toy they were based on.
