Do we still need this forum?

Well... here are my thoughts, for what it's worth.
Quite a few people have replied, but only a couple of publishers. To me that says that this is more a fan forum than a publisher forum, and isn't really any diifferent to the General Discussion forum where fans generally offer their opinions and discuss stuff and publishers occasionally drop in.
I agree that it's a cool concept in principle - people have referred to it as a "central clearing house". If it actually were a central clearing house, I could see where people are coming from, but these days I don't actually think it is that. It was once upon a time when I started it (back when EN World was separate to Eric Noah's site and had its forums hosted here), but most publishers have moved on since then.

No offense intended, Morrus, but you're wrong, at least IMHO.
There are a fair decent number of publishers who post here. Mongoose posts here always. Green Ronin fairly often. Right now, in the first page, you have Bad Axe Games (go Wulf!), Dark Portal Games, Skald Books, Monkey Gold, Inner Circle Games...
Maybe the big ones aren't posting (althought Green Ronin and Mongoose are big ones), but for the small publishers, this forum is a haven, a good way to be known.

That's it. Central clearinghouse or not (I think it is), it's all most people ever see.

Hm I think that most publishers post here if they have something to announce. And after that, they check their threads often, too.
I visit this forum everyday, and I'm only visiting publishers if there's an announcement here or on the EN News.
So please keep this forum.

As for the those publishers who've left for their own forums, it's really too bad for them. They're catering to the fans that they already have, which is well and good, but they really should be here fishing for new fans that they could have
I visit two forums here, this one and the general forum. Kill this one and I spend have the time on these boards
