Well, exactly. But some people that don't like the premise will still try it. And it seems like the vast, vast majority of people that have given Eberron a shot -- whether or not they liked the premise -- have liked the setting.

Although now there's one vote for tried it and didn't like it.

When I first heard about Eberron, the setting didn't interest me one way or the other. After seeing some of the good things being said about it on these boards, I bought the ECS. And now I love the setting and am running two campaigns set in it simultaneously.

I haven't tried it (as in played in it), but I have read through some of the material and it hasn't made me interested. It's brilliant stuff, sure, but just not my cup of tea.

It could be that someone voted for it just because you pointed it out. :)

I ran one for a short time before job demands on my time forced me to stop. I'd really like to join an Eberron game though (and if there is anyone between Boston and Providence running a game, let me know!)

As one of the former player's in his game; I recomend both the setting, and his RP abilities

I am amused by the concept of Eberron, but not enough to want to run it.

Think of it -- this is a world that takes all the D&D/D20 rules (and even conventions) at pretty much face value and shapes a world to take all those points into account. No other "core campaign" has ever truly done that. As such it is a world that actually takes psionics into account at the base, as well as tweaks the feel of the world so it is not merely medieval Europe with the numbers filed off. Instead, Eberron is a world that works to the rules. And, as such, that is a fine thing.

OTOH, this is not a game world that really fits my tastes. I might be willing to play in this world if someone around were GMing it, but I probably wouldn't do it myself. Personally, I prefer to fit the rules to the world rather than the other way around, but that is a personal taste.

I have no desire to play in an Eberron campaign. Too many things just don't do it for me. But... even with that said, if my gaming group decided they wanted to play in that CS, then I would go along with them.
