Think of life with a last name like Smoot. I heard every variation of Smut, Smote, Smurf, its the new Schmoo... etc. I even get the ocassional "I just stepped in a pile of Smoot".

So needless to be said, my own last name has been the basis of my nicknames growing up. Thankfully, now later in life, I enjoy the uniqueness of the name.

Amazing that someone else notices that small of detail in the movie.

Well I knew that it would come in handy someday when I met a real live Smoot.

You gotta admit that it's fun to say Smoot.

What is really fun is to exchange the word "you" with Smoot, in popular songs. Works almost all the time.

My wife really hates when I do that though.

No real nickname's, but my seven year old step son adds a "Y" to my name, and he has passed this on to every kid in the block, of which there are many. So whenever I walk down the street, all the kids in the neighborhood call out "Hey Scotty". Make me feel about five years old.

Then you should pull out the Scottish accent and imitate a certain chief engineer....

And Reveal: that was funny!! At least I didn't have any soda to spew on my monitor.....

My dad calls me "Peanut"

Some friends started calling me the Gertuitous T, which shortend to the T, and then to just T, but that died away after a while.

My uncle Jimmy calls me Gertrudous.

My given name is Nicholas, but everyone calls me Nick, except for my grandmother who sometimes called my Nicky. Which I hated. In high school I was Herold, my last name, because there were so many other Nicks.

And, very briefly, I was Badger. I rather liked Badger, and almost wish more people would use that.

Hmmmmm well my names Jonathan.
Ive been called: Jon, Jonathan, Oberto, Mung, Jobo, Jono, Jo, OBtrice, Carl, Jeeves, Manaquin (sp?).
All have stuck with different people for quite some time now. Everyone seems to like to call me something different. Its funny to see people come up with new names for me, and it happens far too often.

Will start with my full real name: Jason Emil Schrader
From my name many nicknames have come out.
My first shortened to J or Jase, these are still the most common, particularly J.
My last name, because of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, I got called Shredder, and a few jokesters always tried Trader.
My middle name also got butchered, see its pronounced A(as in A)-mul(as in null) and it doens't take much to turn that into a certain word referencing a certain part of the anatomy, needless to say I didn't like it, but got called it mainly by a pal back in high school (he usually did it more to annoy me)

Oh yeah, some other things I was called: Psycho (I had this thing for doing crazy things), Funnyman (also referencing those crazy things), both were back in middle school.
