I don't really do that sort of thing as much these days, although last night, having rolled pathetically all night, I finally did the 'calling the 20' trick again (it works best in really dramatic situations, and lo and behold out it came a 20. We all jumped up and down the way you do when you roll a natural 20 when the you really need to. Then the GM rolled a 20 on his save. Sometimes the dice gods just aren't on your side!</blockquote>
