Do you let your young one watch horror movies?

I tend to think there is something in the thought that violence in TV begets aggressive behavior in children, but that's not the only thing that contributes. My son acts more aggressive after watching any TV, even something like "The Book of Pooh" with absolutely no violence. I think he simply has too much energy and TV watching does not let that out. The days he does not watch TV are far better than the ones he does, so you can imagine how little he is allowed to watch :)

Anyway, I see no reason to let my young children see fanciful horror when the real world horror is going to enter their lives all too soon. Already my son knows about the World Trade Centers and that was from watching Reading Rainbow while I was in the kitchen fixing lunch. I watch my kids and wish there was some way of keeping people's horrors to other people out of my children's knowledge forever, and I know that will never happen. It's just an unfortunate part of growing up. But I don't need to let other people's nightmares in the form of horror movies filter through their brain while walking down our hallway at night still causes great distress to our six year old.
