This is worth keeping in mind when comparing halflings with 2 year old children. While the halfling diagrams early in the PHB may make the halfling look like one of the melon-headed children from Family Circus, the proportions between body parts of a halfling would be different form a 2 years old's. I assume the fully grown halfling has the same general proportions as a fully grown human and so would have a smaller head and shorter torso than a 2 year old.

For some reason I find this extremely frightening. Like the Wizard of Oz goen terribly wrong.
