Do your cats like turkey?

Hmmm. It's funny - you always hear about dogs begging for food when people eat, but in reality, or after reading this thread, I guess it's a pretty common practice for cats as well.

You wouldn't have happened to be living in Augsburg at the time, were you? Only place I knew of that had a KFC was Munich and Aburg was about 30 minutes away (If you drive like a German anyway).

Nah...it was Stuttgart- home of the Porsche! (wheeeeeeee!)

We lived at Robinson Barracks, and our KFC was only accessible via regular city streets- no Autobahn for us!

I also remember that the closest McDonalds was in Frankfurt (that we knew of, anyway). Anyone who went was given a pile of money to bring back burgers & fries. Even cold or reheated in one of those newfangled microwaves, it (and KFC) was a taste of home that couldn't quite be equalled by the base canteen.

I used to have a cat that had a thing for vindaloo. She'd scoff it all down and lick up all the sauce.

My flatmate at the time once decided to do a Japanese meal: lots of raw fish and rare steak. He made far too much, though, so we ended up putting the plate on the floor for the cat: she couldn't believe her luck! She looked around, stared at us to make sure we weren't having her on, then slunk up to the plate on her belly, seized a piece of meat and slunk out. And repeated the whole process a dozen times over the next 20 minutes.

Never had a cat that's been to Turkey, though I used to have a cat that supposedly was born in Iran. That's gotta count for something.

:)

One of my cats always sits on the floor by the table waiting for scraps, but I haven't seen him have a preference for turkey. If it's Ham tho, he'll actually try to force people out of their seats and pounce on the meat.

I was eating left-over vegetable Lo Mein, and went to the bathroom... when I came out both my cats were eating it. That was a new experience for me... I think it was the peanut oil.

I make a turkey sandwich most mornings before I leave for work. I usually give my cat a small piece of it because he begs so much and even tries to take it away from me.

On the days I don't give him some, for whatever reason, he gets really pissed. He cries and cries and cries even after I leave (so say the roomates).

He doesn't care nearly as much for beef.

He also doesn't like spicy turkey.

I'm guessing it was the salt.
I would agree - my wife had a cat that used to like olives, I'm guessing it was for the brine, but she would finish them, so who knows.

Oh and Augbsurg would have been closer, we had a McDonald's dowtown - nowhere else can you order a Big Mac and a beer. :)
