Dodge, can you shift targets on anyone else's turn?

Dodge reads:
"During your action, you designate an opponent and receive a +1 dodge bonus to Armor Class against attacks from that opponent. You can select a new opponent on any action."

My question is in regards to "on any action". Does this mean that a character with dodge can pick a different designated target during someone else's turn?
Well, any advice on this would be much appreciated, thanks!

Hmm... almost looks like you can...

But then again, if you can change it during your opponent's turns, they could as well have given you a permanent +1...

Therefore I think they mean any of your later actions/turns.

No, you cannot take an action during someone else's turn unless it is explicitly allowed.

It actually say "During your action" in what you quoted. The point is that you can switch targets regardless of what kind of action you're taking (standard, move, or full).

I don't think so, I grabbed that directly from the SRD. What I posted is what is says on the SRD.

This is another of the differences between the SRD and the PHB.

The PHB description states "During your action...", so that clarifies it.

Yeah, any of your actions, as mentioned in the previous sentence.

If you can change the bonus "on any action" you could have the +1 against an enemy that´s attacking you with an AoO with your move action, then change it again with the attack action.
