Dodge question.

Dodge [General]
Prerequisite: Dex 13+.
Benefit: During the character's action, the character designates an opponent and receive a +1 dodge bonus to Armor Class against attacks from that opponent. The character can select a new opponent on any action. Note: A condition that makes the character lose his or her Dexterity bonus to Armor Class (if any) also makes the character lose dodge bonuses. Also, dodge bonuses stack with each other, unlike most other types of bonuses.

My question is about the statement "the character can select a new opponenet on ANY action."

I'm figuring:
Fighter moves (action 1) through threatened area of baddie 1 declaring dodge on baddie 1. Ends move out of theat from baddie 1 face to face with baddie 2 and attacks it (action 2) declaraing dodge on baddie 2.

Or is it that you can select only once per "round"?

Thanks

By on any action they mean you can do it at any point in your turn. So you could declare your dodge bonus against the person who's going to get an AoO when you run past them.

Looks like I have one vote for each. Heh.
No, Drawmack isn't disagreeing with KaeYoss. He's pointing out that the phrase you drew attention to is in reference to when during your turn you can change the target of the bonus, which is any action.

For instance, suppose that you are a fighter in melee with another fighter. A ranger stands between you and the wizard, who is suddenly threatened by a barbarian. Last round, you had declared the fighter your Dodge opponent.

Now it's your turn again, and you want to break away from the fighter, move past the ranger, and attack the barbarian to try and protect your friend. You can choose to keep the fighter your Dodge opponent as you break away (getting a +1 AC vs. his AoO), then switch it to the ranger as you move past (getting +1 AC vs. his AoO) and then attack the barbarian.

But you still only get to change your opponent once a round.
