D&D 5E Does anyone else feel like the action economy and the way actions work in general in 5e both just suck?

Doing something like throwing sand in somebody's face is covered in the section on Contests in Combat. You wouldn't be amiss to have a contested Sleight of Hand v. Acrobatics check, with the consequence being that the enemy is blinded until the end of your turn.

But what if my PC has a fake flower that squirts water in the face of his opponent? It's not covered in the rules because the system is broken! #BADWRONGFUN

Maybe that armour normally requires an action and the OP remembers it being okay'd as a use of Fast Hands?

Or he's just mistaken and refuses to admit it. Crawford has stated that you can't use fast hands to drink a potion because it's "using magic" so I doubt he would say that magic armor qualified. Personally I ignore potion rule and if you can chug a beer using fast hands you can drink a potion. I don't remember if the ruling was just a tweet or not.

I also find the "well I'll just have a gang of children do this" arguments weird. How exactly did you convince a bunch of 7-year-olds to go charging at a cloud giant, anyway?

Yeah it's a bit weird. Do you have to like... say a magic word before using a potion?

Candies?

Tell them it's really just a giant power puff girl that wants to give them candy?

EDIT: Ninja'd surprisingly!
