While there are 12,000 of us registered at ENWorld, the vast majority are lurkers.
The thing about online messageboards is that you can't physically see people around you and say "Hey, where'd they go?" It's hard to notice when people have dropped off of the boards, since no one (with the possible exception of Crothian) reads and posts into every single thread. There could be a very active poster around who you never see, ever.
I notice when someone posts a whole lot, but when I start seeing them less often, I usually assume that they're posting in other forums on the boards.

No, actually, you tend to have interesting posts. Sure, "tend" is relative since you have a low postcount -- mine are probably much less interesting on avereage. Maybe I have a weird memory.
