Does DR prevent Aid Another?

Situation: Animal Companion (Colin, the Irish Wolfhound), is trained to enter melee, flank, fight defensively and Aid Another (me).

Big bad this evening had DR. Does that prevent Colin from doing an Aid attack?

You don't have to actually hit the creature to use the aid another action, hence DR doesn't apply. Think of it as ganging up on someone. Your target has to pay some attention to you, which lets your friend get a better shot in.
