does spell duration count when in anti magic field?

Sir ThornCrest

First Post
I had a question that I dont believe is covered by RAW does the round to round duration of spells count while in the area of an anti magic zone? Example a wizards mage armor lets say lasts for 10 rounds he casts it round 1 and round 2 a beholder manages to get & keep him in his anti magic area for 8 more rounds does he have 0 rounds left or 8?

Yes. Durations can and will expire if you spend too much time in an Anti-Magic Field.

Not to be too critical, ThornCrest, but I think it would be generally appreciated if in the future you could keep the posts a little more compact (for lack of a better word). Seems to me you started three threads today all about the same thing: help with a beholder. Both this question and the other beholded post you made you easily have been kept contained in your first post, and it wouldn't clutter up the boards quite so much.

It's right in the description of antimagic field, Sir T:

"Time spent within an antimagic field counts against the supressed spell's duration." (End of the second paragraph)
