Does spell resistance Stack?

for example, I am going to be a 10 Cleric/ 10 Contemplative of fahrlanghn, taking the Protection domain. This means I get SR=Contemplative level+10. Then I cast the Spell Resistance Spell (SR=level +12). Would this mean I have 42 Spell Resistance?

No. SR generally does not stack. When you a SR rating from different sources you normally only count the highest rating.

However SR bonuses normally do stack with an existing SR rating.

Eg, you have SR 20 as Contemplative, if you cast Spell Resistance you would have a SR of 22. If you had a magic item giving you a SR bonus of +5, you would get an SR of 25 or 27, respectfully.

Are there any magic items that add to SR? I can think of some that offer an SR rating (which doesn't stack), but I don't recall any that enhance existing SR.

Any kind of stacking enhancements to SR should be tremendously expensive, because it's so very difficult to enhance a caster level check. High SR can quickly become impossible to penetrate.
