YEs... we wear costumes... We where these things called tee shirts and jeans, as opposed to our regular robes and armor... ;)

But seriously,

Diaglo... socks with sandals? Come on man! :p

(I didn't know 'costume' was a verb.)

I have one player who will dress in "costume" but really only when we play something historical (wearing vintage clothes for CoC or a Pulp game, or 'something her character would were' for modern) more often than not she just has one prop of somekind - a homemade piece of jewelry, a book, etc. or a gamer T-shirt.

Personally, I think its shameful. ;)

Actually it can be used as a verb, though normally when used with an object... Like "I'm costuming the house for halloween..."

We require a jacket and tie.
Does that count?

On several occasions, I've DM'd in a suit and tie. We game after work and I don't have time to change before catching the train for the session. Since we usually game in a conference room (It's great:whiteboard, markers, food and even one of those things that let you project images if you want it) it actually doesn't look out of place.

This has gotten me some funny looks on the train. First comes the look of curiosity when I pull out a legal pad (nothing odd, guy in suit pulling out legal pad, people just want to see what your writing) then the look of puzzlement (wierdness) when I pull out a gaming book (guy in suit looking at a large color book seems to not compute for some people).

Closest is the wearing of fantasy-themed t-shirts, pin-on buttons with pithy gamer-ish wit, and one night where we began a campaign as "ourselves" and translated any equipment, etc. we brought or wore into in-game items as "we" were transported into the fantasy world. Otherwise, noone I've ever gamed with would likely be caught dead in costume short of a Halloween or quasi-gaming related costume party. I.e. a particular, special occasion where it was known and expected that others would similarly participate.
