ALWAYS. I grew up in a group that used one, and it's been weird without one ever since. I like being able to hide things, whether they're my notes, books that I have open, maps, or die rolls. I also like having some decent artwork in front of the players to sort of get them in the mood for gaming. I also really enjoy having a screen to peer over menacingly...with that little grin in my eyes... MWAAAHAHAHHAA!

Ahem. So yes, always!

I love my screen , I must have my screen, it is my wall of DM privelege..... Seriously though it keeps my players from seeing what I have my books or notes open too....so whenever I go to the bathroom I turn the MM to the tarrasque or solar of dragons pages to worry them a bit in case there are peekers.

I use it to hang my maps/important notes on, or else i have to search everytime through my notes. And they always seem to be on the last paper i look on :(

Funny, I keep it open on Dopplegangers. :D

I love my screen because those metagaming weenies don't need to know what Villain X needs to roll to hit them.

It's also very useful when I'm running Alternity. Players shouldn''t know what roll their armor uses to stop the damage, and they especially don't need to know how many ranks they have in armor operation (that also reduces damage).

I don't use a game screen. I just make sure i have something that covers my notes, and since I use a laptop, I just close the screen.

I've also made a point to the players. Kid gloves are off. So if the rolls say it crit, it crit. if it fails, it fails.

I don't fudge.

I'm with Kyramus 100%. (And I wouldn't want to miss the look in the players' faces whenever I roll a crit...:D The unanimous sighs of relief when I roll a 1 is also nice. Both are proof the players are really into the game!)

I use the screen that comes with the Scarred Lands character book. It has everything I need at a quick glance.

I use the screen for several reasons. Firstly, it has all the game mechanic notes that usually crop up during a game on it, and that saves time looking through books. It also hides my scenario's, notes and dice rolls.

I have tried it before running without a screen but have never felt comfortable with it. Its not that I don't trust my players not to look, but having a screen identifies me as the DM and helps keep people focused on me.

Not really, 'coz no one wants to spend the money on something they see so little value in. We also don't play sitting around a table, either, though.
