"Who doesn't love a good pun?"

I think the first of the two episodes by itself would have been a little unsatisfactory, but it provided some nice narrative bridging. And the second episode. . . . Whoo boy, good times. Though the sudden exit stage right was pretty odd.

I watched online, though, so I didn't get to see the trailers for next week. Anyone know where I can find them?

I'm really, really going to miss this show. It's been many years since this kind of science fiction has been on TV --much as I loved nBSG, Firefly, and Farscape, they don't count. Wait... I'm repeating myself, aren't I?

BTW, I thought both episodes were quite strong. I kept thinking Dollhouse would have made a terrific BBC program; fewer episodes per year, two or three series at the most.

You are probably right, Mallus. When it is focusing on its main theme, the show has been strong. But for a typical (American) TV Show, it needs to be stretched to multiple seasons, and that probably hurt the show, leading to several weak episodes.

I really wish the US could accept a more BBC approach to some shows. A set story arc with a finite ending is good sometimes instead of focusing on making a show for the long haul. The american model of as many seasons as possible can lead to stupid filler and weak plots to feed the mcguffin of the season only to have everything reset for the next go around.

You can see the change in Dollhouse now that it has a definite end in sight. There's a tighter focus and better writing as it pushes towards Epitaph 1. Seeing the show shine like this I'll be even sorrier to see it go, but I'm glad that Joss at least has a chance to resolve the show properly instead of getting cut off right when it gets really interesting like Terminator TSCC.
