I was suprised recently to discover that many people I know don't use the Cleric Domain spells as they are put forth in the Player's handbook.
How many people realize that you can only take one spell out of the two available at each level through your domains?
I quote the SRD:
"Each domain gives your cleric access to a domain spell at each spell level, from 1st on up, as well as a granted power. Your Cleric gets the granted powers of all the domains selected. With access to two domain spells at a given spell level, a cleric prepares one or the other each day. If a domain spell is not on the Cleric Spells list, a cleric can only prepare it in his domain slot."
Do people play it this way, or allow access to domain spells as if they were part of the Cleric Spells list? This is the one of the few and subtle ways that clerics are balanced versus other classes, so I was wondering how many people actually use it.
