Done buying?

I went out earlier this evening and found several 3.5E splatbooks in the bargain bins at several local FLGS. I picked up: Drow of the Underdark, Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk, and several "Complete" books (warrior, mage, and arcane)

The 3.5E "complete" warrior, mage, and arcane books actually looked quite impressive. (I never would have thought I would actually be praising 3.5E stuff). The 4E Martial and Arcane power books look quite lackluster in comparison.

The Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk so far looks quite impressive. Perhaps this may have to do with the Paizo people who wrote it. In hindsight, if only WotC hired messrs Mona, Jacobs, Bulmahn, et al ... to write the first few 4E heroic tier modules ...

The 3.5E "drow of the underdark" book reads ok, though not quite on par with my copy of the 3E Forgotten Realms Underdark book. I hope the upcoming 4E Underdark book turns out to be impressive. Though if it turns out to be lackluster in comparison to the 3E/3.5E versions, then I don't know how much longer I will stay on the WotC 4E treadmill of buying new books every month.

I thought I was done buying D&D forever when 2e came out. :p

Originally I thought Unearthed Arcana for 1E AD&D was a scam or a cynical cash grab by TSR, and I was done with buying anymore TSR stuff at the time. (In fact I took a 20+ year hiatus on buying any new TSR/WotC stuff, until 4E was released).

While I'm not buying 4Ed (other than the Core 3 I pre-ordered), I'm still buying stuff for other systems- HERO, M&M, W&W, probably a little Pathfinder and True20 at some point, and maybe some 3PP Traveller stuff. There's also a sci-fi game based on Stewart Crowley's Terran Trade Authority (The Terran Trade Authority: Store) I might pick up for collections sake if nothing else, and someone tipped me off to a game (http://www.darkcitygames.com/display.php?series=law&id=19) that seems to be to In the Labyrinth/The Fantasy Trip what Hackmaster is to AD&D.

Which, along with my CD collecting, jewelry design and guitar playing hobbies, means that I'm pretty much broke all the time.

I was done buying. . . until Paizo, with their wily, wicked, wanton ways seduced me, Pathfinder-style.

Now? I've got three of their hardcovers lined up (Core Rulebook, Bestiary, and GM's Guide) and who knows what, after that.

Plus, I'm back on the look out for other neat things. Some of them might end up replacing stuff in my bookshelf, and some might end up complementing said stuff, or other stuff. I'm optimistic, once again. :)

Yeah, me too! I have ordered every single product Paizo has/will put out this year (and quite a few products from last year).
