Each person, taking a deep breath and looking about, can see that the Evipaun do indeed appear to be leaving the valley. They are deliberately walking straight across the sand toward the northern spire that marks the boundary controlled by the Pelimonrae. Once west of that spire, no one would be trying to limit, much less control, the actions of anyone seeking or finding conflict.</p><p></p><p>The kidnappers walk with purpose but stop as they reach the spire. The haze that hinders distance vision during the day is not as pronounced this early in the morning. At first thought, the Evipaun could possibly be motivated by some means of cowardice, but this is far from accurate. With the absence of landmarks out in the sand, the kidnappers are orienting themselves. The pause was very temporary. They begin walking again, moving in a straight line, north by northwest. It makes no sense that they would walk toward seemingly nothing.
