Down with "3.5"! Viva "Revised"!

Some people don't like the Theurge. Some are steamed up about the Ranger. I could give a rat's you-know-what about Quicken Spell. My beef is over the name. 3".5". Can I download this? If I bring in proof-of-purchase on 3.0, can I upgrade to 3.5 for cheaper? Will 3.5 be backwards-compatible with my dice?

AAAAARGH!!!

D&D is a game, goshdangit, not a spreadsheet program! It's not enough they've got me talking, walking, and thinking like an RPG geek, now they want to slap a Computer Geek template on me? Well, I won't have it. Here is a man who would not take it anymore! I'm hereby starting the 3ER Not 3.5 League. Flock to my banner! The revolution will not be televised (We'll just have someone describe it to us, and picture it in our mind's eye)!

Hey, I was never a fan of "3e" to being with. We moved from AD&D 2nd edition to D&D d20, and soon we'll make the rather less-than-significant shift to Revised D&D d20, whereby half the people out there will be playing with the same rulebooks they've been using, and a different SRD. I find raising a stink about every little thing to be rather childish, but great entertainment.

You are posting messages on the internet to a message board on DnD...

I regret to inform you; You already have the Half-Computer Geek template applied...

Look closely at the plaques near the bottom of the covers. The first line says "Core Rulebook I" or II or III, but does the second line say "v3.5"? Really obvious in the DMG, noticeable in the MM, barely visible in the PH. Does that mean they will officially be known as "v3.5", or is this just a placeholder for (ex:) "Revised Edition"?

I like 3er or D&Dr, too, but WotC has already adopted 3.5. It is the logo they use on the website for the weekly updates, as well as in Dragon magazine. Too late to change it, I think. And those pics of the new covers do say "v 3.5" :(

G'day

It should be 3.1, anyway, not 3.5. What happened to 3.2? 3.3? 3.4? Did they die in beta-testing?

And perhaps it ought to be called "3eA1" by the US military.

Regards,

Agback
