The problem is, you can *say* 3.5, while trying to say 3eR or 3rd editon revised or whatever is just a mouthful. Y'all *do* have real conversations with non-internet people, don't you?

Ever since they made it clear that 3.5 is going to be the only intermediate step between 3e and a putative 4e, it seemed to me that the obvious apellation is 3R. That's easy to see, easy to say, and pretty clear what it means!
