[DP9] Silhouette/d20 Conversion Guide

Marc A. Vezina

First Post
Thanks to the efforts of Paul Lippincott, we've added a comprehensive Silhouette-SilCORE-d20 conversion guide to our Web site. This should remove much of the guesswork when submitting a dual-statted piece to us. The file is in RTF format and is rather big (869kb):

http://www.dp9.com/Corporate/freelanceWriters.html

Save it by right-clicking the link at the bottom of the page above and selecting "Save Target As". Any questions should be sent to us at support@dp9.com. Thanks!

err, isn't there something messed up? The file I've found has a size of 326kb

Probably a saving error or somesuch. No matter, because we have a new version coming online on Friday, and this one is in PDF format (only 164 kb).

Highlights of the revision:

System Reference Documents:
- Clarification of what d20 SRD and reference material is to be used with each DP9 game line;

Character Generation:
- Corrections made to OGL format;
- Wealth added to OGL format;
- Hit Points and Action Points sections added;
- Skill Equivalencies SilCORE to OGL, added Pilot (Mecha) with reference to SilCORE rulebook;

Vehicles, General Statistics:
- SilCORE to OGL specific conversions added, specifically regarding Hardness, hit points, Maneuver, Initiative and Defense;

Weapons:
- Base Range to Range Increment conversion table expanded;
- Damage Multiplier to Dice of Damage conversion table expanded.

No more guesswork or hassle when converting from Silhouette to d20, which means you can effectively use your entire librairy from either game as source material for the other.

Retired Products: As previously announced in the monthly newsletters (http://www.dp9.com/Support/storeSupport.htm#monthlyfax), we are retiring another set of older titles (we retired a few titles back in January). Check the Retiring, Retired & Out-of-Stock Products page (http://www.dp9.com/Products/retiredproducts.htm) to get the full (and correct) information on the status of our catalog.

CORE Rules Add-ons: We've added a list of generic weapons' stats (in downloadable PDF format) to the CORE Game Aids page (http://www.dp9.com/Funhouse/Aids_CC.htm). While each CORE-supported setting has its own world-derived equipment list, this can come in useful for those wishing to use Silhouette CORE as an engine to propel their home-grown campaign.

Detailed Silhouette/OGL Conversions: We've revised the comprehensive Silhouette-Silhouette CORE-d20 conversion guide (http://www.dp9.com/Corporate/freelanceWriters.html) that was posted last week; the file is now in PDF format for ease of use. This should remove much of the guesswork when dual-statting, and allows gamers to fully use any DP9 book in their d20 game and vice-versa.
