DR and poison

I couldn't seem to find anything to cover this. Suppose someone is hit by a tiny viper that does 1 pt. of damage, and has poison. Would someone with DR 1 (from any source) have to make the save? My instinct would be not, but I'm wondering.

If a creature's DR stops all damage, poison and similar effects have no effect. See the glossary in the DMG.

Like Henrix said, if the DR stops all damage, then injury type poison has no affect. See the 3.5 DMG, page 292, top of the first column.
