Dr Gregory House Vs Jack O'niell

A strange poll. What is the criteria for "badassness?" I mean, Jack O'Neill could whup House's ass all over the place, but House would get in several cutting sarcastic remarks that could deeply scar Jack emotionally. :)

Any definition of "Badass" that sees both The Doctor and B.A. Baracus eliminated in the first round does not compute.

This poll is now cited as a reason I support only Jeffersonian democracy.

Only if you include the movie, which may technically be out of the bounds of the contest. She had very few badass moments in the actual TV show (2... maybe 1.5, really).

Good point. But those moments she did have were pretty good. Blasting three baddies with three shots with her eyes closed, outsmarting the bounty hunter Early...not bad.

Also, you've gotta give credit for the 12 aired episodes that River Tam was in compared to the 111 episodes for House.

Oh, absolutely. From a straight badassery perspective, I think she wins, but I think it's likely to be a close contest. The sheer number of episodes does work in Gregory's favor, perhaps unfairly, but that's the way these things go.

I have to give props to the Gregory House character for being the only reason I ever watch House anymore. I got over the "medical mystery" thing a long time ago when I realize almost every diagnosis was going to go through the same process, over and over. But the House character alone is worth watching the show for, just to see what he is going to say or do next.

I think that's the way the show worked from the beginning. The medical "mystery" was always just backdrop for the characters, much like you remember Sherlock Holmes more than the crimes he solves.

Cheers, LT.
