I hope the Master shows up this season.

Who's the Master?

Sho'Nuff! :)

I hope they bring him in this season, too. I still think it would be cool to have the Master and the Rani turn out to be the same person, just different (time-displaced) incarnations, actually. I think it would be great fun to see the Doctor butt heads with a (preferably evilly-hot) Master. You'd really have to cast it well, though, although that goes for any Master character I guess.

(Can't believe they didn't have Anthony Stewart Head be the Master- he'd have been so perfect!!!!)

Hell, does anyone know when it premieres in the U.K.?

The last two years, I think it was Easter weekend. If that's the case this year, just a couple of weeks away!

The Master was seemingly done in for good and all in the Tardis in the one off 8th Doctor film where Paul McGann played the Doctor. As he went into the eye of harmony there isn't any coming back from that.

This is Doctor Who we're talking about! He'll be back, and played by John Simm of Life on Mars.

I theorize that the Master in the movie was a Dalek duplicate created for the express purpose of assassinating the High Council (as the Daleks have tried to make a Doctor duplicate for the same reason on more than one occasion). It would explain why they honored his "last request" (strange behavior for Daleks). Like we have seen with other Dalek duplicates, the Master's personality imprint was able to take control of the duplicate, so that his agenda (get the Doctor's body, going back to The Deadly Assassin) took over instead.

Just a theory, I know, and hardly canon....but if the BBC is out there listening they are more than welcome to make it official!
