Dracohydra

forgot i had a doc of the 2E PHB handy... it's a 1st level spell

Wall of Fog
(Evocation)

Range: 30 yds.
Components: V, S, M
Duration: 2d4 rds. + 1 rd./level
Casting Time: 1
Area of Effect: 20 ft. cube + 10 ft. cube/level
Saving Throw: None

By casting this spell, the wizard creates a billowing wall of misty vapors in any area within the spell range. The wall of fog obscures all sight, normal and infravision, beyond 2 feet. The caster may create less vapor if he wishes. The wall must be a roughly cubic or rectangular mass, at least 10 feet across in its smallest dimension. The misty vapors persist for three or more rounds. Their duration can be halved by a moderate wind, and they can be blown away by a strong wind.
The material component is a pinch of split dried peas.

Why no spells, it's a dragon right. Give it a few sorcerer levels at the end of the age categories, otherwise it won't stand a chance against an average party.

As for the Wall of Fog replacement, go with Obscuring Mist as they are the same level.

And regarding the int, as you put it that way, make it white +1. ;)

yeah, but they're hardly standard dragons are they? :) and with 2-5 breath weapons per round they're no push over. ;)
the original description states "Nil" for #spells for every age category. that is unusual even in 2E, so i decided to keep that as a holdover for the conversion. now if you, in your campaign, want to give them spells, that's up to you. :)

didn't you have some sort of formula for figuring out 3E dragon sizes? the sized listed here would make the dracohydra much bigger than most 3E dragons. should i just compare it with the way other 2E dragons were converted (if i can figure that out)?

Formula? LOL! :D

Actually it's quite simple, just open up your MM2 (you do have a MM2, right?) to page 5 and look up the dragons HD in the table.

But to help you, here is the best sizes for each age category:

Wyrmling - T
Very Young - S
Young - M
Juvenile - M
Young Adult - L
Adult - L
Mature Adult - H
Old - H
Very Old - H
Ancient - G
Wyrm - G
Great Wyrm - G

It will never reach colossal size. ;)

You can use the same table to determine it's physical stats at each age category. :D

how's this now? for 2E terms, i felt the size was roughly between green and blue dragons, so i gave them the same size progression. :)
