Dragon 326

The thing is, this seems to be a very recent problem (excluding the tribulations of those outside the U.S.).
Not true, I had this same problem when I subscribed before the magazine went to Paizo, and have it now after subscribing again.

The odd thing is that this isn't a Paizo-wide problem. I've had my copy of Dungeon #117 for a while now, so it's just whatever service they're using for Dragon...though that does make me hopeful that Erik will be able to solve the problem in the near future.

Threads like this one make me think that I wasted time getting that English degree, and that to really please our customers I ought to have instead spent a few years in the trenches at the local post office.

Paizo is doing everything in its power to ensure speedy delivery of magazines. I confess that I do not know all of the ins and outs of how the magazine is delivered, especially outside the United States.

Do you subscribe direct from the US, or through our subscription fulfillment in the UK?

PS> Obviously, we're not "paying the post office to sit on the magazines." I eagerly come to EN World and other sites to see what people thought of the creative content in the magazines we produce. I'd really rather people talk about that than distribution problems. That said, so long as problems exist, it is only natural for people to gripe about them. I'm doing what I can.

Well, Erik, I would happily say nice things about the latest issue of the magazine if it wasn't 8-10 weeks away from being delivered! ;)

I subscribed through the website.

I know but even hyperbole has its uses. The point I was making was that there I know of no class of postage that would take so long to reach Oz from the USA. Even something sent from India (my benchmark for all that is backward due to my long experience of doing business there) would not take so long. Four weeks would be about right for pov-class from the US to Oz.

Personally, I would rather talk about this too but, in my nearly two years of being a subscriber I have gone from every second issue being lost to every third issue being lost (so that's an improvement) and that on top of the 8-10 week delays. This is making it rather hard for me to contribute to the "creative content" threads while they are still current.

However, I still support the magazines and will sometimes buy a copy at my FLGS if I really want the content and don't want to wait (recently that was the Maure Castle issue of Dungeon and the Darkness issue of Dragon; both of these were excellent).

Of course, the answer seems to be to simply let the subscriptions lapse and buy from my FLGS and I suppose that's the way I'm heading. However, while you're in your reformist mode (and, BTW, you really have done a great job with Dungeon already!) I thought you should know about the issue of international distribution as well.

Erik, I know it isn't your responsibility, but ever since the change to Dragon was made (#323), issues are taking twice as long to get here (Serbia) from the UK fulfillment center. I just got #324 a few days ago, and I don't expect #325 until the end of November, and #326 until January.

As soon as I get it at least on the same *day* my FLGS gets their pile, I'll discuss the creative content. As it is, I'm too pissed off that I'm subscribing to something only to save a few bucks.

Here's how you fix it: Send out the subscriber copies a week *before* shipping it to store distributors. Simple. You can thank me later.
