That's the one problem of WotC doing Dungeon/Dragon. The tie-in promotions can be a little tedious if you don't like This Month's Product.

Yeah. I'm not a huge Realms fan, though I'm sure I might get something out of it - since I'm playing a Wizard the Red Wizard article is a little interesting to me, and might have something mechanically useful. Most of the fluff is pretty wasted on me though. Still, my personal preferences aren't really grounds to complain too much.

I am rather disappointed there's no preview/playtesting article though. I was fully expecting something, especially seeing as how WotC was big on saying that stuff would be released online. I'm guessing that didn't work out for some reason.

[EDIT] Also, this is hardly a new issue for me with Dragon (or for others, I wager). Sometimes the themes work for me, sometimes not. Again, not something that can really be complained about.

Rituals

I'm still hearing the "it's primarily a tactical minis game!" complaint a lot around here (here=irl, not enworld). The background stuff is nice (eladrin city, blah blah blah), but what's we're really missing is solid game functionality for out-of-combat character abilities. With the rules we have, rituals are a big part of that -- but there's so few of them in the PH.

So I'm really glad to see this article, and hope there's not only a dozen good new ones but also that it's just the first installment.
