Dragon 379 - Adventurers of the Realms

I do have a mild concern about the mechanics of supporting both multiclass and hybrid characters. For example, some features of the Underchasm Darkwatcher (warden and warlock as prereqs) require you to have Warlock's Curse, which I don't believe you have if you're a warden multiclassed into warlock.
You can get it if you use the alternate feat from Arcane Power, but it ends once you've dealt curse damage.

Note that I don't necessarily consider this a flaw in the PP design, but I think the article should note such issues or clarify the designer's intent.

I, on the other hand, do. I don't want flavor-oriented players to shoot themselves in the foot just to squeeze a little use out of their PP.

Yeah, that was my only real disappointment with this article. They potentially penalize characters entering the multi-classing from the wrong 'direction'.

Specifically:
The Shyran Spiritblade daily power allows you to make a secondary attack with one of your Swordmage at-will attack powers. If you starts Shaman and multiclassed into Swordmage, however, you don't have any Swordmage at-will attack powers.

The Underchasm Darkwatcher has many abilities that rely on enemies being cursed. If you are a Warden who multiclassed into Warlock, however, many of those will be of very little use - or potentially none at all.

The Dragonfoe Ragespell gains benefits with sorcerer at-will attack powers when raging, and can use them on a critical hit. If you are a Barbarian multiclassed into Sorcerer, you don't necessarily have any of them.

Outside of being a Half-elf or Hybrid character, most of these paragon paths only really work if you are multiclassed in the 'right' way: Swordmage into Shaman, Warlock into Warden, Sorcerer into Barbarian. But it doesn't make that obvious, so you may well have many who designed their characters the other way around and who the Paragon Path would be perfect for conceptually... but lacking in actual benefits it gives you.

I think the easy fix for both of these is simply allow a character to use either a Swordmage/Shaman or Sorcerer/Barbarian first-level at-will power when you hit. It might be a little off, but I don't think it should be too bad, especially the Sor/Brb one.
