Dragon #382 - Class Acts: Invoker - God Fragments

Am I the only one that thinks these are a bit weak for a PARAGON feat? Heroic I can see, but PARAGON?

I do like that it plays with the god fragment in the Invoker.
No, I think they seem fine for Paragon Tier. What do you compare them to (more specifically than just "other" Paragon Tier feats.)?

I don't think they are really weak, persay - keep in mind you are getting both a skill bonus and, essentially, a free utility power each combat. That is not half-bad on the power scale.

What bugs me is that the articles just seem a bit... light on content. The god-fragments themselves only get a single sentence mention in the opening page and a brief paragraph after that, rather than really going into any of the ramifications of what awakening one really means. The abilities are clearly patterned after the mechanics for familiars in many ways, but come across as much less flavorful - even the use of 'quirks' just involves listing a set of traits already associated with those deities, rather than putting forward an actual list of interesting possible quirks like with the familiars.

It isn't a bad article, by any means, and centers around a great concept... but, for me, it doesn't quite live up to the potential of that idea.

I suppose this exhibits the disadvantage of trying to bring shorter articles to get more different articles to viewers - you lose depth and breadth.

Maybe they just need a better mix of lengths...
